Like Dougie Brown, Gavin has spent the greater part of his career in English county cricket although as a member of the Yorkshire side. He will move to Durham for the 2004 season. Arguably, Scotlands outstanding performer in the 1999 World Cup he played a single Test match for England in the following winter against South Africa. His return will further bolster an already experienced squad.
