Lowerhouse have signed South African all-rounder Francois Haasbroek as professional for the 2011 season.
Francois is a right hand batsman and right arm medium pace bowler. He has been a consistent performer since making his debut for Free State in 2010. He obtained his degree before undertaking his First-class cricket career playing in every match for his state this season.
The is 23 year old is the eighth South African to represent the club.
Cricket Chairman Stan Heaton said: "We are very confident that Francois will be a huge success providing us with a quality batsman and a bowler who has been taking wickets in first class cricket at an average less than 20. He should benefit from the experience he gained in the Liverpool Competition in previous seasons."
