Scorecard: | West Indies v New Zealand |
Player: | CH Gayle |
Event: | New Zealand in United States of America and West Indies 2012 |
It was a great comeback by Chris Gayle when he notched-up 150 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 64 in the second which led West Indies to victory in the First Test match against the Kiwis. These 150 runs came in a mere 206 balls and Chris Gayle smashed boundaries and huge sixes which put the Kiwis bowlers at bay.

This batting also forced the Kiwis bowlers to rethink where to bowl to this great batsman who was in sublime form. He also blistered with his willow in the second innings was well-supported by the Team and especially Roach who grabbed five wickets in the second innings.
This phenomenal return by Chris Gayle after a gap of 18 months to West Indies Test Cricket sends warning signals to other teams across the Globe to be wary of this all-rounder who is still hungry for runs.(Article: The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author only.
