Todmorden have signed Pakistani Test and ODI all rounder Bilawal Bhatti as their professional for the 2015 season.

Todmorden captain Andrew Sutcliffe said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Bilawal Bhatti for the upcoming season.  Bilawal has played cricket at the highest level for Pakistan in all formats in the last 12 months and he  has been a constant success in domestic cricket back in Pakistan over the last five seasons.

"Obtaining a player of Bilawal’s international calibre is hard to secure at league cricket in the current climate and we are confident that he will be a huge success and help develop our younger first team players and juniors throughout the club and inspire players at our club to perform to the best of their abilities.

"Bilawal has had two successful stints in England playing for Hem Heath C.C and Alfreton C.C where he took 107 wickets in 420 overs over the two seasons and scored just under 1,000 runs from 27 innings.

"When playing for Pakistan Bilawal was consistently clocked at bowling 90 mph and he has two first class centuries to his name and we are confident that he will be a successful all round acquisition for the club.
We would like to thank Danny Arshad of Pro Sports http://pro-sports.co/ for his guidance and assistance in securing Bilawal’s services for the 2015 season."

The 24 year-old will be Todmorden's fifth Pakistani professional following Jim Minhas, Moshin Khan, Aftab Baloch and Qaiser Abbas.

Bhatti's signing leaves just Church to confirm their professional for 2015 with the season just eight weeks away this Sunday.
