South Africa beat Bangladesh by 61 runs. Set a target of 284 in 50 overs Bangladesh were bowled out for 222. Earlier South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. Contributions for South Africa came from everybody. Kallis top scoring with 50. South Africa ended at 283 for 8 in 50 overs. South Africa plundered 66 runs in the last 5 overs when the Bangladesh captain had held his one powerplay back

Bangladesh had their captain to thank for a reasonable reply. He scored 71. He was involved in a 92 run partnership for the 5th wicket with Shakib Al Hasan after Bangladesh were reeling at 77 for 4 at one stage. Shakib Al Hasan scored a half century.

Earlier Dale Steyn ripped through the top order of the Bangladesh batsmen and sounded a warning to the Aussies that he is back to full tilt. He finished with career best figures of 4 for 16 to steamroll Bangladesh top order. Morkel brothers also chipped in with couple of wickets. The partnership between Bangladesh captain Ashraful and Shakib Al Hasan was good but not good enough as Bangladesh fell short in the end by 61 runs. They were all out for 222 in 44.2 overs.
